Holding Money Can Provide Pain Relief

Money may not be able to buy you love, but it seems that it can provide you with pain relief.  New research suggests that holding money can relieve pain or even prevent the pain being felt in the first place.  It was found that during research, people who had counted money before being subjected to low level pain felt less discomfort than those who had not been given any cash to handle.

It is believed that this is because handling cash boosts our feelings of self-importance and self-esteem, and it has been proven in earlier studies that someone is more able to deal with pain if they have a high sense of self worth.
